Problems with MenuDrake

I'm trying to edit my start menu, but having a very hard time.

Specifically, I want to separate my Music submenu into several sub-submenus: Sequencing, Looping, Effects, Ripping, MIDI, Wave, Playing and General. However, Menudrake's "add new directory" function is screwy; it creates the directory/folder icon, but never lets me actually put anything in the directory. I end up having to cut-and-paste "other" directories from other menus (Office, Games, etc.) and re-name them. This is far from ideal, as I'm already running out of other menus to cannibalize!

Also, when I drag-and-drop, MenuDrake frequently (about 1/3 the time) drops the wrong thing, as if it randomly chose programs to move around, or doesn't allow me to drop something where I want it to go.

In addition, MenuDrake frequently shows many, many copies of the same icons (like five copies of Totem, for example). They don't show up in the actual menu, but they're very annoying, especially in combination with the "can't drag-and-drop" bug.

Is there a solution for this?

I'm using Gnome 2.6 and Mandrake 10.1. I've tried KMenuEdit, which seems to work beautifully, but it doesn't help under Gnome.

Thanks!
