in an attempt to disable the profile manager of firefox i made the (in hindsight) pretty stupid decision to delete the default profile name in my user (not root). now, regardless of how many times i re-install my 0.8 version of firefox (i hav mozilla 1.7 also) it will not let me run it under my own user. under root and other users it works fine, just not my own. the following error is displayed whether i run it through a shortcut or directly through the firefox executable in Konqueror (i use SuSe linux and KDE):

'Couldn't find the program 'firefox''

mozilla works fine and the default user is present when i run firefox through root or an alternative user. help!!!!!!!!!!!!!

o, one thing i meant to ask - is there some sort of linux registry like in windows that may remain even after a version of firefox is deleted? thanx

dont worry this question was pretty much answered in another firefox profiles thread (i renamed the .phoenix file).
