Problem with p2p apps in Slackware 11

i write this because im gonna get mad, i cant use a p2p program to connect to the eDonkey net.
Can anyone help me fixing the problems with amule or mldonkey or just recomend me othe client.
Im using Slackware 11 kernel 2.6

MLNET: compile good, starts good but ten minutes later crashes, i cant conect sancho or web interfase to the core, and uses the 95% of memory usage (my pc is PII 330,256 ram), i have to kill the core and start it again but i lose the tranfers.

aMule: I cant compile because i have problems with the wxGTK
libraries, i try to install previus releases, try other configurations and nothing. Sometimes when i do the make command in aMule displays:

MuleGifCtrl.cpp:132: error: ‘class wxGIFDecoder’ has no member named ‘GetLogical ScreenWidth’
MuleGifCtrl.cpp:133: error: ‘class wxGIFDecoder’ has no member named ‘GetLogical ScreenHeight’
MuleGifCtrl.cpp:137: error: ‘class wxGIFDecoder’ has no member named ‘GetLeft’
MuleGifCtrl.cpp:137: error: ‘class wxGIFDecoder’ has no member named ‘GetTop’
make[2]: *** [libmuleappgui_a-MuleGifCtrl.o] Error 1
make[2]: Leaving directory `/home/ale/Internet/p2p/aMule-2.1.3/src'
make[1]: *** [install-recursive] Error 1
make[1]: Leaving directory `/home/ale/Internet/p2p/aMule-2.1.3/src'
make: *** [install-recursive] Error 1

other times it displays:

not lage files suport you must enable it.

i check wxGTK documentaton and i found nothind about enable it, only how to disable.
