Angry Problem confoguring printer :-( !!

Hi There,

I just installed a new network printer at home... Samsung ML-2250N with an embeded network adapter... Installed like a charm on "Wincrap XP" !!

When I started to install it on my RH9, I manage to create the Cue and tested the cue no problem !! BUT every time I open the Gnome Print manager, It tells me that their is no printer installed and asks me if I want to install 1 now !! No matter what I do, it never works !!

That's my little problem, Please someone help me !!

Thanks in advance

Evening Canadian!

I tend to use Cups on every install I have, including really tight installs, it just works so much nicer than anything else I've ever tried.

Once you have it installed, you start the server:
service cups start
Could be cupsd if there is a complaint about cups not being found.

Then, fire up a browser and head to:
http://localhost:631
Click on the Printer tab, then Add Printer. Follow the steps, and enjoy.

Cool

Usually that is due to cups not being started. For troubleshooting, you may want to just start it from the command line:
cupsd
As root. Then surf on over to the page above.

Good Luck!

Thanks...
What I had to do ... Was to remove CUPS V1.0 and install the newer version... 1.2.something... that I Configured everything manualy... cupsd.conf, printers.conf,...

Then the printer showed-up in printer manager !! and I can print !!! :-))

Thanks for your help
