is there a gui or anything i can get to confgure my printer ive got an epson set up on a windows machine and iw ant to be able to use it from my gentoo box. any suggestions?
yeah i think i read that a while back and it looked like a lot of stuff and i was wodnering if there was a gui i coul dget or something, im guessing not, i just thought id ask, if not i'll try and do it the hard way.
it may not be gui based, but it is pretty easy. It steps you through everything, step by step. That is what I used to set up cups. I will be reinstalling and networking with windows soon, I will be in the same boat as you soon. I will definately be following the guide.
i just read this howto and i didnt exactly see what i was looking for. it tells you how to prtint from a windows box to a linux box bot not the other way around, which is what i need. i got gnome-cups-manager but it says it cant add the printer.
