samba printing

i am trying to print from mac osX to samba. the system finds my epson printer fine, but doesn't print anything. when i check on cups the print job isn't there.

the printer works fine when printing directly from the machine it is connected to.

i read somewhere that the file /var/spool/samba must be writeable to all users. is this correct? and how do i implement this if so.

thanks for your help

ok, go into a terminal window. If you are logging in as a normal user, type "su" without the quotes, and enter the root password. If you have logged in a root, dont worry.

In the terminal window, type "chmod -wrx /var/spool/samba" without the quotes.

IIRC, that should work.
