Postfix, Squirrelmail, courier-imap, etc
Well, I have been teaching myself linux by turning an old compaq tower into a server box running ubuntu feisty now. I have had postfix configured and working since Jan 2007, but how can I learn about linux if I don't explore and challange myself? So, I tried a web howto, flurdy.com/docs/postfix/, to try a webmail client. This has caused me nothing but problems. My postfix is able to send message by command line, but I can't receive anything and forget about logging in with squirrelmail, I always get an error message telling me "Unknown user or password incorrect." I am confident that squirrelmail is working properly, mainly because I think I would be the first person to ever actually have a problem with squirrelmail. I believe the problem is with my courier-imap because I cannot connect to it with evolution. It is very likely that the courier problem is being caused by a postfix problem. I have always had postfix set up for mbox instead of maildir and the tutorial had no instructions to change from mbox. Please help. I assure you that you will be teaching me as much as helping.

PS - I have a professor, but he recommends qmail instead of postfix. I don't want to switch to qmail because my understanding is that postfix should work better with squirrelmail.
