Try having a look in /var/log/maillog on the fedora/postfix machine, that should give you a clue.

Postfix is a mail transfer agent (MTA), not a mailbox server. Can you explain a bit more what you are trying to do?
I suspect you need a POP/IMAP server like dovecot

thanx for the replay .
yes i have Cyrus running on my system "imap" and Postfix . which is running fine so far .
and i also configured my thunderbird to one of the accounts i have on my fedora system, therefore . i can connnect with no problems ..
the only problem iam finding is that my thuderbird account dose not see my folder structure. as a result is informs me that there is no folder with that name .
i beleive iam missing a step here but i cant point out ???

I know courier imap has a tool to create the folders structure.. did you just manually create folders on the server in your mailbox or was their a utility involved like maildirmake My example is for Courier imap. I have not used cyrus but it may have a similar tool

Over posting there.
You could just install dovecot and stop the cyrus service (chkconfig cyrus off and service cyrus stop - check service name first)
