Pidgin source link?

Hey everyone i recently decided i would like to install patches into pidgin.

the only problem is i dont have a "deb -src" line in my "sources.list" file so that i cant do "apt-get build-dep pidgin".

so i was wondering if any of you had the link or know another way to install them?

I am running debian etch with gnome.
