Partition Recovery
I am looking for help recovering "unknown partitions" here is the story:
I had a storage array set up to mirror, however when I switched over to fedora from windows on my "home server", I realized that this was very foolish because I can't write to my drives as long as its partitioned with NTFS.
I tried to "break" the array in order to format one as fat32(or something that is both readable by linux and windows) but I guess I ended up just deleting it, and therefore losing the partitions. After freaking out for a bout an hour I recrated the array and low and behold the partitions are still on the drive. Only they are listed as "uknown partitions" and I cannot even mount it as a read only ntfs partition.
I am pretty sure that the data is there, and in tact, and I am trying to find a way to recover, most of the programs that I found on the internet that only *might* work seem fairly costly. Does anyone know a relatively cheap(preferably free) way to recover this data?
Any help would be greatly appreciated, my music library recently passed the 30gb mark and I only have 10 backed up on my ipod. Not to mention all my documents and backups. . .
Thanks in advance
