/boot partition recovery

Hi Friends,

I have got my friend's PC for support. It is dual boot of Red Hat linux 9 and windows98. He has deleted /boot partition from Windows98 by mistake using fdisk. And also he has created a new partition in it.

While rebooting he found that GRUB not able to load linux... obviously.. lol..
What I want is, IS THERE ANY WAY TO GET BACK /boot PARTITION? OR CAN I INSTALL ONLY /boot PARTITION ON THIS MACHINE!!!! ( I don't want to install complete OS again...!!! )

thanks in advance
swamytk

If you have a backup of the boot partition you will be able to use Knoppix to create a new boot partition and then restore the files that were originally in the boot partition. If you haven't got a backup you may be able to get copies of the files required from your distro or a mirror or even have a look on the installation CD. Maybe!
