Organic Desktop

Hi,
I was wondering if there was a way to enhance my desktop by making it appear more organic by putting an animated image in the background of nature... say, a picture of a feild, but one that really gets light and dark with the time of day, has swaying wheat rows, checks the weather and changes the on screen representation relative to real life. Does anybody know of a program that can do this for me? I run fluxbox.

I don't know of any, off the top of my head. Perhaps you could achieve something similar by playing with http://netdragon.sourceforge.net/ssuperkaramba.html

Yeah it's for KDE but in my experience these things can be made to work with other window managers, they just don't advertise or support that...

Update: I just went into kdevelop and searched help for "desktop" and there is a whole tutorial in there for writing your own programs that paint onto the desktop.

How about setting your background to be an animated gif ?

I knew someone who had a small animation of the Star Wars Kid running tiled as his background... Not much else would run, though
