Cool oracle backup degraded because of the commvault agent on redhat 6.6

Ok I have a redhat linux box version 6.6 we needed to run a backup and installed commvault agent to backup only the filesystem not the database.

but when the service for commvault started up it degraded the database so bad we had to remove the commvault package and never ran a backup of the server

Why would this happen?

this is on a dell server with enough resources cpu, memory ...

So let's see:
  • Red Hat Enterprise 6.6
  • Commvault
  • Oracle
ALL of which are commercial, pay-for products. Did you open a case with Commvault? Oracle? Red Hat? There are lots of reasons something could have gotten corrupted, but we can't guess. The log files are a good place to start.
