opera icon


i have downloaded opera, and is installed in the mandrade tree as follows-

rpm-applications-networking-opera

when i try to create a link to application and put the opera icon on desktop, i get malformatted application link;//

don,t know to to establish link to opera, i have right clicked on desktop, clicked link to application,clicked on application- in the comment line i have used opera, also clicked on file type, all files. i just can,t seem to get a opera icon. usually when i download opera, the icon will appear in the kde menu. anyone have a answer

I think u can find opera icons in

$OPERA/share/opera/images where $OPERA is the directory in which u,ve installed opera (look in /usr/share for an opera directory)
in that directory look opera*.png files

sandy.

i went to the spot you suggested, there are some images of the opera icon, but i can get the opera icon by right clicking on the desktop, create new,link to appliction.then you click on the box with the funny looking icon, and there will be icons for about any software you want to download. my problem is after i get the icon, i am unable to link it to the software. cannot get the correct path or filepath when setting up link to appliction. thanks ron

The icon does NOT determine the application. You can choose any icon for any application. You must enter the application in the corresponding box, in the application tab. You may have to enter the full path name.

Can you run opera from the terminal???????

Try:
ldconfig &&
updatedb

THEN:
locate opera

AND/OR
find opera
