Why that specific version?

1.9.x were the betas for version 2.0. I'd think that any file created in 1.9 could be opened with a later version and vice versa.

actually, i have 1.9.104 version which is for FC4. Will this version work for FC3 too?
Because I have a distribution to build. I remember i have built the distribution for FC3 using 1.9.96. I have made some changes. So, searching for a specific version to put in FC3 based distribution

Note: Will 1.9.104 version of openoffice work with FC3?

You can use the 2.0.x versions from OOo. The 1.9.x versions were testing versions for 2.0.x and possibly contain lots of bugs. 2.0.3 was released recently and it has a lot of bug fixes. It should work on FC3 since it does not have an weird dependencies.
