Post OpenGL acceleration weird with 2.6 Kernel & Radeon

Hey Everybody,

I'm on a Slackware 9.1 Box. I've got a Radeon 9800 Pro and... YES, she's doin' fine... for all those who have these fuc**** OpenGL acceleration/AGP support problems with the Via KT4 / KT6 Chipset (MSI KT6 Delta in my case), I recommend this page "h**p://3w.gmpf.de/english/". It helped me a lot. After Weeks of looking for a solution that works for me I found that page.

But now back to my main Problem. When I use the 2.4 Kernel, OpenGL acceleration is good. Quake 3 runs almost as fast as on my Windoze OS and it all seems to be good. OK, FSAA performance sucks, unfortunately. I hope ATI's going to fix it soon.
If I use my 2.6 Kernel, I have a weird OpenGL acceleration: Quake 3 loads (I had to reinstall the fglrx drivers before) and the game hangs almost every second for a short time. While playing I have 300 and more fps if I want (com_maxfps) but the "hanging" stresses me out -> it's unplayable. Moreover the textures are fuck*d up. Everything's mistextured and slightly blurred.
Does anybody of you know WHY I have this crappy OGL-Output? Maybe one of you has had this prob, too
Another prob is Unreal Tournament. It seems that UT uses no OpenGL acceleration on my Box. It's running at 5 FPS. That really sucks *g*
I haven't had these probs with my nVidia GeForce 2/3, but that doesn't mean nVidia's good - it's just the driver. nVidia sucks -> ATI 4 life

One last thing: If I change the Volume in "Volume Control" (Dropline Gnome 2.4/ALSA) the sound doesn't get louder or quieter. It's just ... on or off. That's not so nice. Does somebody know why this happens? I'm using the onboard C-Media (it's Via hardware I think because it runs with the Via drivers) sound-controller.

Help would really be appreciated

greetings Sulley!
