Why won't konqueror allow me to browse filesystem as root?

Konquerer isn't a program you can run from the command line, and you need to have X running first. After you become root, just enter: startx

Or do I not understand your question? -- J.W.

JW,

I'm running KDE.

Code:
$ konsole
gives you the konqueror browser, which can be used to r-w-x local files.

But here's what happens when I try to run konqueror AFTER SUing:

Code:
[root@OPIOID ns]# konqueror
mcop warning: user defined signal handler found for SIG_PIPE, overriding
/tmp/mcop-ns is not owned by user
[root@OPIOID ns]#
?
....

Is it possible that I need (or is there such a thing as) a root profile for konqueror? I can still browse locally _as root_ with nautilus.

KDE defaults GUI local file-handling to konqueror. So, when I click on a folder icon on the desktop it brings up konqueror.

This is nice, because konqueror's is a more optional local browsing experience. I still use mozilla for Internet, but I like konqueror a lot for its customizability and because it's a better _local_ interface than nautilus.
