No MP3 support with any program

I have tried xmms, amarok, banshee, and rythembox
they all just run through the playlist like there was nothing there, it shows the songs and the time. But it will not play them.
I just installed limewire and it will play the songs I download but i dont know about any that wer copied from my windows files. I am trying to convert to linux here. Also I was wondering how come the songs I copy from my /windows folder have a padlock on them

I am running suse 10 free, with the gnome desktop

If you search in the Suse forum, you will find similar threads to yours that already have the solution. One thread that has the solution to your problem is here.
