Need to chown a bunch of remote files. Kbear? $ftp?

Having recently moved web servers, a bunch of my files have been given the wrong ownership information.

What is the best tool to change their ownership back as it should be?

I see the
$ftp
command will let me chmod, but not chown.

kbear, a linux GUI ftp app, will show me the ownership but not let me edit it.
What other tools are there that I could use?

Thanks for any tip you may have,
