So how can I execute exe files...cant type the question mark sry
Please reply ASAP cuz this took me over 10 mins to write
ok... your keyboard is qwerty, but it's an azerty keyboard?? a quantum keyboard?
i presume you mean it has a physical azerty layout, but the default you have is qwerty.
in this case, open either /etc/X11/XF86Config or /etc/X11/xorg.conf depending on which one exists, and find the keyboard section. in there, change (or add) the layout option to:
Code:
Option "XkbLayout" "fr"
or which country you are from. Belgium use azerty too it seems.....
it's a keyboard. you do NOT need drivers for it... it's a keyboard. they are WINDOWS drivers, for a WINDOWS operating system. how do you suppose they will be of use in a system that is totally and utterly different?
you can open exe's using programs like "wine", but in this instance, it is of absolutely no significance.
DVD writers do not require "detection". it will just work. Well there might be a few configuration glitches if you're on a 2.4 kernel, but still nothign that you'd consider "detection". no window will magically pop up and demand you reboot 12 times.
as for multimedia keys... there are many way to make it work at different levels. there is simply no driver required for it. at base level i believe xmodmap can do what you want, but i expect there's a higher level way to do it too.
With very few exceptions (mainly wireless network cards and crap scanners) you will never ever have a use for windows driver disks. just forget they exist. they will be of no use.
