heislyc, to give a clear answer and guide through every step would be very cumbersome to anyone not familiar to Samba. But, in an effort to aid you, let me give you this advice. There is a management program for Linux servers called Webmin, available at
http://www.webmin.com This program has a section under "Servers" that includes most all configuration for Samba and even another app called SWAT which many like more. They both do the same thing which is to configure your smb.conf file; but with some help and descriptions of what it is that you are doing and the possible outcome. Go to the website, get the app and then install it (they have really clear instructions). Many in the 'nix community prefer to do this by command line and that is okay, but just starting out, often times the GUI of Webmin is a big aid.
Next, to answer your question, yes there is a way to configure what you are asking about, but it requires some thought and the writing of about one line of code (this involves a "password change chat" that goes on between the client and the server. It is very minimal and webmin can assist.
My recommendation is to get this program, look at the references in it and the ones posted previously and you won't have any problem. Good luck and repost if you have any further issues.
