nautilus: cannot open display

Hi All,

I use Fedora7 VM. I downloaded this VM from thoughtpolice.uk..it works great..but when I use nautilus from another machine I get

[root@localhost Desktop]# nautilus
cannot open display:
Run 'nautilus --help' to see a full list of available command line options.

Any clues on how to proceed?? BTW X11 forwarding is yes in ssh_config.

Thanks,
unev_21

When you ssh to the box you must pass the -X parameter so that X11 forwarding works.

He means ssh -X hostname to set up the connection. Then start nautilus on the remote machine and it'll be displayed on your local machine.

Sometimes ssh -Y hostname works better.

See man ssh for the full list of options.
