MySQL / phpMyAdmin - Can only see test table after granting proper privelages..

I've got a user - lets say it's called pma. When pma logs into phpMyAdmin he can only see thte test database.. Well - thought it might be a grant issue so i double checked pma's grant permissions..
it says....

GRANT USAGE ON *.* to 'pma' @ 'localhost' IDENTIFIED BY PASSWORD 'password'

I must be doing something wrong since i thought granting global usage will get PMA access to everything?

Make sure the phpMyAdmin is correctly setup. Check the config file and make sure you are defining the database perameters correctly. IE mysql, port, user/pass.db
