mutt, pgp, mdk linux

Hello all,

Okay I have a server that is up and running for my friends and I, all works well except for one small problem: when I send an email using mutt and gpg to people using windows they recieve the message as an attachement which the complain bitterly about having to decrypt. Now I know that it is possible to get mutt to send using the "old" style pgp where the message body is not an attachement but I can't find an rpm for mutt 1.5.4 nor can I build from source because it would be insecure to have gcc on the server. I found a patch fro 1.4.1i but again I can't compile so. . . . Anyone have any ideas on how to get this functionality securly? I have never done any cross-compiling but that is looking like the only path. Anyone have and good links to read up on the concerns?

Thanks!
