mplayer plugin

I have installed MPLayer from apt-get install mplayer
I have tested Mplayer itelf for different codecs and it works.
Now I am trying to install the Mplayer plugin for Mozilla on RH9, I have tried both the RPM and installing from tar. Neither works. When I go to apple.com/trailors it still prompts for plugin. My mozilla version is 1.5b Why can't I get it to work?????

Have you checked that there is a link to the plugin in your plugin directory, the beta version that you are using may not pick it up automagically.
On my Mandrake system the mplayer plugin installed itself in /usr/lib/netscape/plugins
(I do not have Netscape installed by the way)
Mozilla Firebird needed to have all my plugins symlinked to its plugin directory.

Hope this helps

I have already put the file directly into my mozilla plugins folder. Any one know why it won't work?
