Angry Mplayer please help

I am having major problems getting mplayer to work. I want to use it in conjunction with mplayerplug-in. gmplayer will play .wmv fine, but gmplayer won't work with a video stream in the browser. It returns the AF_INET6 error. I ca't get straight mplayer to work from the command line. there is something in the gui.conf file that makes gmplayer work OK, which is absent from the mplayer configure file. Any help hetting the configurations right for mplayer much appreciated. It's an ATHLON machine running Fedora Core 3. here's the .mplayer/config file:

vo=xv
ao=esd
cache=16384
framedrop=no
flip=no
afm=libmad
ni=no
autoq=0

Here's the gui.conf file:

enable_audio_equ = "no"
vo_driver = "xv"
vo_panscan = "0.000000"
vo_doublebuffering = "yes"
vo_direct_render = "no"
v_framedrop = "0"
v_flip = "0"
v_ni = "no"
v_idx = "-1"
a_afm = "libmad"
vf_pp = "no"
vf_autoq = "0"
vf_lavc = "no"
ao_driver = "esd"
ao_volnorm = "no"
ao_surround = "no"
ao_extra_stereo = "no"
ao_extra_stereo_coefficient = "1.000000"
osd_level = "1"
sub_auto_load = "yes"
sub_unicode = "no"
sub_pos = "100"
sub_overlap = "no"
font_factor = "0.750000"
font_text_scale = "5.000000"
font_osd_scale = "6.000000"
font_blur = "2.000000"
font_outline = "2.000000"
font_autoscale = "3"
cache = "yes"
cache_size = "16384"
playbar = "yes"
load_fullscreen = "no"
show_videowin = "yes"
stopxscreensaver = "no"
autosync = "no"
autosync_size = "0"
gui_skin = "default"
gui_save_pos = "yes"
gui_main_pos_x = "352"
gui_main_pos_y = "370"
gui_video_out_pos_x = "169"
gui_video_out_pos_y = "90"

Many thanks for any help.

I can't see your problem. I can't see any error message. I don't know if it breaks, or works with null output...

AF_INET6 error surelly mean that there is a connection problem to the network using an IP V6 adress, what does your /sbin/iconfig -a output says and what does the stream url look like ?
