I am newbie whos been lurking for a while and i've hit my first major problem.

I have tried to install various Mp3 players for the KDE GUI on Mandrake 8.1, such as Apollo, KJukebox etc. However everytime the install fails due to missing files. The list of missing files always seems to include files such as klib and qtlib.

I tried installing these files from package Manger but it tells me they already exist. I am logging in as root and have tried installing by compiling Mp3 players and alsoi installing from rpm packages with no luck.

Any ideas?

If you've tried compiling from source and then realize that you need other dependancies satisfied you should delete the 'config.cache' file in the root of the source you are trying to compile. Failing that you can just delete the entire directory (for the source) and unpack the tarball again.
