middle click paste only works sometime and how to config other buttons?

Hi i have kde 3.5.1 installed in kubuntu. i used to use ubuntu with gnome and there i loved using the middle mouse button to paste anywhere. in kde it only works on some applications. for example it dosent work in open office. another thing is that i have 2 other buttons on the side (microsoft intelli mouse explorere) which i would love to use for other actions (mostly press them as next song in amarok) is there anyway or any program that will let me do this?

thx alot again

Middle-click for pasting doesn't work for me with OpenOffice.org at all, Gnome or KDE. I am using Fedora Core 4. I'd be interested to know if there's a way to turn this feature on for OO.o.

[EDIT] What does not work is highlighting text to copy it to the clipboard. Pasting with middle-clicking works with OO.o, at least for me.

This article helped me - although I used IMheel rather than xvkbd or xbindkeys.

It shows how to set up evdev
