Question mdadm changes do not survive reboot

I tested my raid 1 by unplugging a hard drive. After plugging the drive back in and adding it back to the array, the drive does not stick to the array after reboot. How do I make these changes survive a reboot? Thx.

You need to edit the /etc/mdadm.conf

Here is what mdadm.conf lookes like:

Quote:
ARRAY /dev/md0 level=raid1 num-devices=2 UUID=66e9849b:1aff0d44:9ae43644:c54f6a2e
devices=/dev/sda1,/dev/sdb
What am I doing wrong?

I'll post some more info.

Code:
cat /proc/mdstat
Quote:
Personalities : [raid1]
md0 : active raid1 sdb[2] sda1[0]
198611456 blocks [2/1] [U_]
[=====>...............] recovery = 26.5% (52791552/198611456) finish=48.7min speed=49900K/sec

unused devices: <none>

This is how I built mdadm.conf

Code:
echo DEVICE /dev/sd[ab][0-9] > /etc/mdadm.conf
mdadm --detail --scan >> /etc/mdadm.conf
I do this after the array is rebuilt, then reboot. The array is still degraded.
