mc(midnight commander) - using vim to edit does not change the file on ftp

Hi,

Just like I have stated on the title,

I have configured mc to use vim for editing files.

It does open files on ftp server but it doesn't seem to save even though i make changes and do :w,

I thought it's meant to do this but I guess not for the time being.

I would really love to get fuse working but still haven't figured out the dependencies... on and on ...

I thought I might be permission problem initially but I am using the same access(username, password) for an ftp program to transfer files and obviously it doesn't have any problems with this.

HELP!!!

Thanks in advance.

Uploading files and modifying an existing file are 2 different things and usually have separate permissions.

Check with the admin of the ftp-server.

Thanks for the reply.

Yeah I do have the full permission on the server.

I kinda gave up on it and I am just using ultraedit on windows
