making terminator terminal universally transparent

Hi all.

I have just installed Arch with mate DE.

I installed terminator terminal emulator, on someone's suggestion, and I it to be excellent, except ....

I can't seem to make it universally transparent; that is to say:
I can get it so that the Desktop appears through it, but when I open terminator over a web page (where I'm trying to copy some command line help, for instance) there is no transparency at all.

?Anyone?
TIA
Tex

You must enable compositing. Take a look here:

https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php...ng_compositing

If you get odd artifacts and such, see the Troubleshooting section. It suggests under some circumstances using a different compositor than MATE's default (marco)
