make and install disk images

I want to make the process of making and installing disk images as fast as it could. So, I want to use just a DVD for booting, making and installing disk images ( images are written also on the DVD ).
I want to boot with DVD, view a window from which I should select to make a image or to choose what image to install.
Thank you very much.

Thank you very much. I am looking for a kind of bootable Rescue CD, but one which can allow me to restore an image file from the Rescue CD directly.
I am waiting for good news.

I'm using the link I gave you to do exactly that. The CD is a "roll your own" project, rather than a ready-made thing (there is a generic ready-made ISO as well, but the strength of that poject is that it is designed to make it easy to make a customized one).

So all you need is to put your disk images on the CD or DVD and restore them.

Hope it helps,

mlp
