linux trace route won't work
What I type traceroute www.host.com (any host) I just get 30 hops will all stars. Why is that? Is there a way around this? Ping seems to work but not traceroute.

Yeah but there's no way it's timing out on every single host I try. I do one in windows and it works.
I'm thinking that it could be that the firewall is blocking the icmp packets. I think I'm using iptables. How would I check weather or not it's blocked and how would I unblock it? (through the console)
