Linux Talk Automatic terminal popup

Hi All, I have recently configured xinetd's talk service to communicate to servers across the Local Network. If I have a terminal already open on the remote server I am trying to connect to then all works fine and the user can enter user@host and we can chat. If however there is no terminal open on the remote server, I want to be able to open one to alert the remote user that I wish to connect. Is there a way to do this within xinetd or the talk service? Or is there somewhere else where I can do this? Running Centos 6.3. I can send in conf files if needed. Many thanks
