Linux Os Installation

Hi

I have a SUNBLADE 150 500 MHz with Solaris
Operating system 9 dated 12.2003 Ultrasparc IIe

I want to know how I can overwrite it with
Fedora Core Linux as I want to install Linux on this
system & remove Solaris OS.

Thanks

I don't see why you couldn't . However, Fedora is not available to Sparc machines, but Aurora Linux is based on Fedora and runs on the Sparc architecture.

Regards!

Also check gotcha's on teh intarweb before installing though like: removing RAM to 512MB or adding "mem=512" on boot to get the installer going, adding "ide=nodma" when booting anyway, and post-install setting Option "ReferenceClock" "29.500MHz" in your X11/Xorg config when you have an ATI PGX64.

While it's not Fedora, Debian also supports the Sparc architecture

Linux installation

Hi

Thanks for the replies

However I am a novice and I need more precise explanations.
So Fedora does not work on Sunsparc. hence I cannot install it.

You have mentioned that I can use aurora Linux. Where can I download aurora Linux and how do I proceed. I tried the link
you gave me but it did not work

thanks
