Linux Os Installation
Hi
I have a SUNBLADE 150 500 MHz with Solaris Operating system 9 dated 12.2003 Ultrasparc IIe I want to know how I can overwrite it with Fedora Core Linux as I want to install Linux on this system & remove Solaris OS. Thanks |
I don't see why you couldn't :). However, Fedora is not available to Sparc machines, but Aurora Linux is based on Fedora and runs on the Sparc architecture.

Also check gotcha's on teh intarweb before installing though like: removing RAM to 512MB or adding "mem=512" on boot to get the installer going, adding "ide=nodma" when booting anyway, and post-install setting Option "ReferenceClock" "29.500MHz" in your X11/Xorg config when you have an ATI PGX64.

While it's not Fedora, Debian also supports the Sparc architecture

Linux installation
Hi
Thanks for the replies However I am a novice and I need more precise explanations. So Fedora does not work on Sunsparc. hence I cannot install it. You have mentioned that I can use aurora Linux. Where can I download aurora Linux and how do I proceed. I tried the link you gave me but it did not work thanks |
