Ok, I brought hard drive home from boat.
I upgraded from Mint 16 to Mint 17.2 Rafaela, not install, did an inplace upgrade following this

Instead of qiana, I used rafaela. Ran into a few issues as a comment made on his blog mentions about forcing packages.

So this way my openCPN is all there and the charts and it is all working.
I also have the fake GT630 card in there and installed Nvidia-340 driver.

One issue, I tried upgrading openCPN using the ppa and got some errors

So any ideas? It appears to orking, the new opencpn ver 4

May have fixed by a force install
