Question Linux - Firefox - Yahoo: I can not copy and paste

When I use Linux (MEPIS 3.43, KDE 3.52) I use the Firefox browser that came with it (1.5). When I go to Yahoo to email, I have a strange problem. I can not "copy and paste" into the part where you actually write your email message. For example: If I want to copy a url, paragraph, etc from one source (webpage, document, etc) onto the blank Yahoo text area where you write your message, I can't do it. I can do this in Windows just fine with IE, but again, not with Firefox. So I am wondering...is this more of a Firefox issue than a Linux issue? Also, has anyone else had this problem and if yes, then what did you do about it?

Thanks!

Simply hilighting the text will put it on the clipboard, then a middle click, or combo left right if you use 3 button emmulation, will paste it.

No....that does not work...

I have already tried that method...which how I usually do it. I should clarify though: Yes, it does work for the parts where you would type to "to," "cc," "bcc" and "subject," but that method of copy / paste does NOT work in the section where you actually can type the "body" of your email message.

Does that clarify the matter?

Thanks!

I just tried middle clicking in the yahoo mail compose message box and it does work. You can also use the edit..paste browser menu. You can also right click in the compose window and choose paste.

If not, your not getting your text or link onto the clipboard I think. Or Firefox of yours has a goofy problem, which would not be too unusual for Firefox.

Can you highlight and then middle click paste in other apps? Like Gedit, Kedit, OO, AbiWord ect?
