Linux mount successful but copy/paste failed

In a recent post I asked about the ntfs windows file system...with help from this board I downloaded and installed the approx. rpm package to enable ntfs support for my kernel (2.4.20-6 i686)....and now I'm able to view my windowsXP partition. My purpose for this was to transfer some files from linux to xp.....the two files I wish to transfer came back w/a response of "cannot write to /mnt/windows"...is this because of the xp security or something else (all I want to transfer is my favorites and address book from linux to xp)...still stumped....thanks for your reply.

The NTFS RPM from sourceforge is read only. AFAIK writing is still experimental and most will recommend a FAT32 partition for file sharing bettween the OS's.

But have a look at this.
