Lilo says my kernel is to big!! (gentoo)

Well I just finished making a custom kernel based off the gaming sources.
Then I boot and lilo say something like
Linux (something) is big. Bigger then lilo second layer. (or something like that)

Please forgive my not having much details. But it is kinda hard to get the error message, remember it, reboot, boot windows, and start this while remembering it.

BTW: Before this big ass kernel prob I had a prob where it said that modprobe can't find /dev/mouse.

make clean bzImage
make modules
