I have libstdc++.so, libstdc++.so.6, and libstdc++.so.6.0.10. So if I link to one of those libraries, AIM should work without installing any external RPM?

I have the same version of libstdc++ that you have, so I symlinked. I found fifty more libraries I had to symlink against before finally getting a 'Segmentation fault' from AIM. I have filed a bug report in AIM's web site. In the mean time, I think I'll go and compile Pidgin.
