Kppp, connection problems

I have a problem with my dial up connection. I just reformatted my hd and put mandriva 10.2 and fedora core3. Before I did this I didn't have any problems. It seems to be only in Mandriva because I can connect without problems using Fedora. The problem is that when kppp connects it doesn't allow to surf the web or anything I already try changing to manually the dns and it didn't work. I try to ping but all I got is a message about destination unreachable. Thanx for any help.

Hello.

It sounds to me like you have a routing problem. Ploase post the results of typing "route" as root in a terminal.

Hmmm...no problems immediately recognizable. Which modem are you using? Is it a "hardware modem", a winmodem, or a softmodem? I've had trouble pinging with certain "hardware modems", although they perform better overall.

Try pinging something by IP address: 65.164.104.5 (it's a domain name server).

Also, make sure that in KPPP you have it set to automatically make it your default gateway.

Hope that helps. Anybody else have an idea?
