Konquerer and yahoo mail

I'm a Linux desktop newbie, tired of twice weekly WinME reboots, so I bought SUSE Personal 9.1. Things were going swimmingly for three months (no reboots!!!!) with the default install (KDE) until yahoo changed/updated its look/feel in the last month or so. Now, Konquerer no longer displays the yahoo mail folder links correctly and I sure don't want to go back to Windows! I haven't a clue how to fix Konquerer's new behaviour, change to GNOME so that I can use Firefox....or install Firefox on KDE, if that's possible.

No offense to those of you who are true "technologists" and eat-sleep-breath Linux technology, but since I work on AIX/Linux servers using command line telnet sessions from a Win2K company laptop during the day, I don't consider having to work on new technology at home recreation.

Can someone please provide instructions or direction to instructions that will let me easily continue using SUSE for my personal computing at home?

Question

Probably there is nothing wrong with your SUSE/KDE/Konqueror
as this appears to be a more general problem.

Since few weeks ago I'm having exactly the same Yahoo Mail display
problems using:

- Redhat Linux 9 + Konqueror 3.1

It looks even worse for:

- Redhat Linux 7.2 + Netscape 7.1,
- Redhat Linux 9 + Mozilla 1.2.1

For the two latter: not only the folder links/icons are messed up but
you don't even see an index of messages at all.

There are no display problems using the same Netscape version (7.1)
under Windows 98/2000. And, I guess, there are none for the other
Windows versions as well.

For many years the Yahoo site has been the brightest example that
Web sites can really be designed cross-platform friendly. I hope
this is not about to change now.

yahoo and konquerer

Jot - I downloaded Mozilla 1.7 and it works fine with yahoo's new mail pages. It also correctly handles e-tailers' sites (market baskets), which Konquerer was also unable to do. This saved me trying to load Red Hat Fedora after many months of happy computing with Suse.

Hi geo

Thanks for the hint regarding Mozilla 1.7. Although I didn't install this one,
your information encouraged me to try other browsers. As a result I can
herewith add Mozilla's Firefox 0.9 to the list of browsers that are capable
of correctly displaying Yahoo's recent Web design.

Though, I still believe Yahoo Mail should support Netscape 7.1under
Linux too.Version 7.1 is the current release for quite some time now.
Changing to another browser cannot be considered a solution for all
affected users.
