kernel32.dll - WINE problem

Hi guys,

i have been trying to get Counter-Strike working in linux and so far so good. Both Half-Life and CS are working, however, I need to upgrade them to the latest versions so that I can play them.

The problem I have is that when I try to install the updates (hl1110.exe and cs1005.exe) it doesn't work.

I type:

wine hl1110.exe when I'm in the directory with the file, the installation windows opens and I get an error saying:

"Could not load the DLL library.
C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM\kernel32.dll. Bad EXE format for"

the message ends at "for". I don/'t know why.

I looked for the kernel32.dll file and I don't have it. Then I found one online and put it in the correct directory. this didn't work.

please help me many thanks

hamish

same prop

I also have the same problem and error while installing hl1110.exe under wine.

The strange thing is in past instalations of wine this problem does not occour. And also I'm not sure if this has to do with the same thing but when I install Photoshop 7 It gets to about 80% then crashes.

Some help with this problem would also be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance

No solution yet, I will hope that a new version of wine will sort it out.

ciao
