I'm trying to install kaffeine 0.7.1 in FC4 and had installed xine-lib 1.1.1.
So, when I do ./configure that message appears:
checking for XINE-LIB version >= 1.0.0... no
*** Could not run XINE test program, checking why...
*** The test program compiled, but did not run. This usually means
*** that the run-time linker is not finding XINE or finding the wrong
*** version of XINE. If it is not finding XINE, you'll need to set your
*** LD_LIBRARY_PATH environment variable, or edit /etc/ld.so.conf to point
*** to the installed location Also, make sure you have run ldconfig if that
*** is required on your system
***
*** If you have an old version installed, it is best to remove it, although
*** you may also be able to get things to work by modifying LD_LIBRARY_PATH
***
configure: error: *** Please install xine-lib first ***
I don't know what to add in ld.so.conf (there is only one line in this file: include ld.so.conf.d/*.conf) or how to set LD_LIBRARY_PATH any help?
How did you install xine-lib? Did you know yu can get the latest xine rpms from http://cambuca.ldhs.cetuc.puc-rio.br/xine/ . Install libxine and libxine devel and then try to compile kaffeine.
Hi, I have the same problems with installation of Kaffeine on Mandriva 2007. after intstallation of xine-lib-1.0.2 I added a line "/usr/local/lib" in /etc/ld.so.conf but the problem didn't disapear.
PHP Code:
checking for Xinerama extension... yes checking for xine-lib... no
----------------------------------------- ERROR: Could not find xine-lib >= 1.0.2. -----------------------------------------

How can I solve this?
Save yourself the time and effort by installing xine lib from the Mandriva discs or getting it from Mandrivas software repos. You can go to easyurpmi and setup the main, contrib, plf and updates repos. After that run the Software Installation tool in the Mandriva control center and search for xine and you should be able to see xine-lib or libxine.
Now it's ok.
I solved the problem with installation of
libxine1-1.1.4-061204.i586.rpm
libkaffeine0-0.8.3-1.SoS.2007.0.i586.rpm
libkaffeine0-devel-0.8.3-1.SoS.2007.0.i586.rpm
kaffeine-debug-0.8.3-1.SoS.2007.0.i586.rpm
kaffeine-0.8.3-1.SoS.2007.0.i586.rpm
I use the Kaffeine with DVB-S TT Buget 1102 and DiseqC 4x1. It work wery well. In the evening will try to install kaffeine sc plugin 0.2.3.
