I am unable to erase CDRW with k3b...
Is there a special plugin or software that I need seperate from k3b?
I have CdWriter and Gnome Baker and they all fail to erase my cdrw's as well...

OK was attempting to make sure you hava a device capable of burning CD-RW media, if you say you do then the only thing left to try is to blank the media using the command line. Try something like with a CD-RW that you do not mind losing the data with; cdrecord dev=/dev/cdrom -blank=fast
FYI: It would be nice to know which writer you are using, the version/distro of Linux and the version of k3b. The output from the commands could be of help also.
I have a laptop with a CD-RW/DVD-ROM combo drive and neither k3b or xcdroast can erase a CD-RW. I am able to do it from the command-line with this command:
Quote:
cdrdao blank --device /dev/hdc --driver generic-mmc --blank-mode full
I usually run k3b as root or you need to put your normal user in a group that has perms on the cdrom drive ( for some distros this is the cdrom group ).
