k3b or xcdroast does not recognize CD/RW-Drive

Hi,
I have two drives DVD-ROM (Master on hdc) and DVD-RW (Slave on hdd) and I can mount and browse CD's on both drives with Konqueror.
When I start k3b (or xcdroast) for copying a CD, they both don't recognize the 2. drive.
I use SuSE Linux 9.0 and in GRUB (hdc=ide-scsi, hdd=ide-scsi) and fstab the drives are configured.
Whats wrong ?
Thanks for help
eric

can you supple the error messages that K3B reports when an error occurs (click view file / report, then save and paste here) that would give more infomation about your problem.

I have two DVD Drives:

the boot parameter hdd=ide-scsi is only set by the 2. drive, which is the burner.
I don't know why ?

In K3B there is no error message, but only the reader isrecognized.
The writer description is empty.
I think everything is patched by SuSE for no working.
