JAVA problem


I recenetly installed java on SUSE. How do I configure JAVA with my firefox browser.

I am also facing the same problem. Please somebody enlighten. Also the javascript:window.close() is not working in mozilla/firefox. I am using RedHat Linux 9.

How did you install it, and where did you install it to.

If you installed it to /usr/lib/java, and Firefox is in /usr/lib/firefox, then simply execute the following command as root:

ln -s /usr/lib/java/jre/plugin/i386/ns610-gcc32/libjavaplugin_oji.so /usr/lib/firefox/plugins
I suggest using "locate libjavaplugin_oji.so" and "locate firefox" to find the exact paths on your system. The above is from mine, so may not be correct for you. You may need to run "updatedb" as root first.

The firefox script is at /root/firefox-installer and the libjavaplugin_oji.so is at /root/firefox-installer/plugins directory. Please guide.

Also enlighten about the javascript:window.close()
