internet browsing

im currently using konqueror to browse the internet, but am finding it very slow at loading pages. (very slow when compared to what windows does) it takes 30 seconds to a minute to load these pages on the forum, when in windows it took no more than 10 seconds. i have already downloaded some packages, and found the speed of the download to be more than twice the average speed of download in windows which is obviously a plus factor.

im using bt's adsl bussiness broadband @512kb/s, and netgear wireless g router (conected by ethernet cable to the pc)

p.s. forgot the point of the question

is this speed difference because of the choice of browser, just something that will pass or is it something that will affect whatever browser i use?

Thankyou in advance for any answers

Hi,
Konqueror, in general, is somewhat slower than other browsers. I'm sure there are tweaks, but I haven't really found any good ones yet . Have you tried Firefox? http://mandrakeusers.org/index.php?showtopic=16075 has some good tweaks for Firefox .

HTH,

if yes
