Installing Xine on Fedora 5

Been away from Linux for a couple of years and thought I would dip my toe again. Anyway, I'm trying to install Xine on my system. I downloaded Xine-lib, used ./configure and make install. No problems there, it even brought back some memories.

My problems start when I try to install the Xine GUI. I download it and try and ./configure it but it can't fine the Xine-lib files. I installed everything in the default folders, but no joy.

Any pointer would be good, as I remember Xine being pretty useful (once I find the codecs)

You are better off using rpms. There are xine rpms available here.
